It's berry pickin' time

I decided for Mother's Day that I wanted to go to Maple Lane Farms and pick strawberries. Last year we had a really bad freeze in April, so we never went. I was so happy to go and pick berries.

Okay, Daddy let's go!

Only it rained all night Saturday night and Sunday morning. So, let's just say the strawberry patch was a bit muddy. Okay, it was abandon your shoes that now weigh 30 lbs and walk in the muck, sucking between your toes muddy. It was great! LOL You can see the mud all over my feet already - and we'd just gotten there.

Will DID not and I repeat DID NOT like the mud at first. He fell one time while he was already angry that there was mud on his shoes. Then he had mud on one of his hands. This pissed him off.

One we lost the shoes, we were doing a lot better.

Will wandered down to the end of the row to check out the standing water.

Todd's "artistic" strawberry pictures - as he calls them.

I told you it was muddy!

Todd and I picked strawberries - while Will ate as many as he could stuff in his mouth. LOL

11 pounds of strawberries, $17 and 3 sets of muddy feet and one trashed newspaper later, we headed back home.

On the way there, we passed a lots of farm animals, cows, horses, goats and even some donkeys. We had to stop and snap a few pictures of the donkeys. One of them started braying at us. Will covered his eyes because it was so loud and it scared him. Then he spent the rest of the day "Hee-hawing" like a donkey.

The pool is open!

May 1st means the neighborhood pool is open! Woot! We went down to the pool on Saturday to check it out. The water was still too cold for me (I'm a wimp), but the boys had a great time in the water.

Trying out kicking in the water.

Trying out using his arms to paddle and his legs to kick - I think he'll be swimming by the end of the summer.

Look at his tongue - priceless!

Time to ride "up on top" of Daddy.

My cool guys.

My kid isn't afraid to jump in the pool. LOL

All cuddled up in his towel trying to get warm.

And a kiss from Daddy before getting back in the wagon to go home.

The Varsity - an Atlanta Tradition

You can't go to Atlanta without going to the Varsity. Or at least I can't. This was Will's 2nd trip to the Varsity and I was glad I had the camera. We went to the Varsity Jr. near where my grandmother lives. We went to visit her so she could see Will. We all went to eat together, GM, Mom, Dad, Will and I. Will ate 2 1/2 hotdogs. I think he's going for my record. LOL

Trying to convince him to wear a Varsity hat.

It worked!!

This is why you must eat at the Varsity.

Back at GM's house after eating too much. LOL

Braves vs. The Reds

While I was in Atlanta because Heather was home from China, we went to a Braves game. There's nothing better than baseball on a Sunday afternoon - unless it's baseball on a Sunday afternoon while Grammy and Pop are babysitting and you're drinking beer and getting sunburned with your best friend. Well, I drank beer.

Chipper

Good seats, eh? LOL

I was excited to get to see Glavine pitch. :)

Hello, hottie aka Jeff Francoeuer

Final score - Braves 14; Reds 7! Woot!

After we got back to my parent's house, Will got to spend some time with his "Hebber". He was so happy to see her - until we explained that baby Grace was in Heather's tummy. That freaked him out and he wouldn't talk to her or look at her after that for a while.

Heather's Baby Shower

Kimberly, Anne and I threw a shower for Heather while she was home from China. There was a pretty good turn out and Heather got a lot of great gifts. I just thought I'd include a few pictures from her shower for folks to see.

The food - yum

The loot

The favors
